My family and I drove to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was the usual trip, we drove down pretty early.
When we arrived we had a very yummy sushi lunch. (Vegas has some of the best sushi restaurants!) We did some shopping and had our hair done while my dad did a spa/massage treatment. Overall, it was a successful trip. We left Vegas late afternoon on Sunday. I drove the first 3 hours and when we stopped for gas in Utah, my dad decided he was to drive.
He only drove for a little less than an hour when the light snow fall turned into a full heavy blizzard. Within 3 mins, the roads were completely hidden underneath the snow.
The car started fishtailing and my dad decided to pull onto the side of the road but when he turned the wheel to the right, the back wheels of the car turned left.
We spun a full 360 so we were facing on coming traffic. There was this hummer/jeep coming up fast, the driver honked and swerved as they tried to stop.
Our car was still slipping and my father spun the wheel to the left, hoping to get out of the car's way. We ended up sliding into a giant trench. We were stuck with the snow and mud building up around our car.
Luckily no one was hurt and the cops managed to get us out and we arrived at home 2 hours then expected.
People have always said that when one is close to death, their life flashes before their eyes.
If that is the case, my life was pretty short and uneventful.
.
It is interesting to experience such a life threatening moment because it really makes you appreciate the things you have in life right now.
The ability to get up in the morning and get ready for school. To have lunch with close friends and attend FHE.
I hope that it doesn't take another near death experience for me to remember how blessed I am and how beautiful life really is.
